Cryogenic Valves

Vacuum jacketed valve series for all cryogenic liquid service

WHAT ARE CRYOGENIC VALVES?

Cryogenic valves control the flow of liquids such as nitrogen, helium, argon, oxygen, and hydrogen that must be kept at extremely low temperatures to remain liquid. To limit heat transfer, these valves are vacuum jacketed and constructed from stainless steel for reliable performance down to minus 452 degrees Fahrenheit. Cryogenic valves are used in aerospace, medical, industrial gas, pharmaceutical, biopreservation, energy, research, and chemical processing applications wherever these liquids need to be transferred, stored, or controlled.

WHY CHOOSE CRYOCOMP VALVES?

Cryocomp has produced vacuum jacketed cryogenic valves since 1994 and is a product line of Cryofab, Inc., which offers more than 50 years of cryogenic fabrication expertise. Our valves cover pipe sizes from ½ inch to 2 inches and tube sizes from ¼ inch to ½ inch. Available options include full vacuum jackets for open piping, cold box cuffs for panel or wall-mounted installations, and uninsulated versions. Body configurations include globe (T pattern), Y pattern, and right angle designs, with manual or actuated operation to suit different system needs. Standard valves ship with short lead times, and custom assemblies or manifolds are available for specialized requirements.

1/2" & 1" Pipe | Extended stem

Series C3000
C3000 Cryogenic Valve Series
Features a longer stem/neck for an extended heat path — often preferred for helium service due to helium's very low heat of vaporization, but suitable for all cryogens. Globe and right angle body styles.
  • Pipe sizes: 1/2" and 1" IPS
  • Body styles: Globe, Right angle
  • Jacket: Full, Cold box cuff
  • Operation: Manual, Pneumatic NC/NO, Solenoid
  • Applications: VJ piping, cold boxes, liquefiers

1/4" – 1/2" Tube | Compact

Series C5000
C5000 Cryogenic Valve Series
Compact tube-end valves for tight installations and tube-connected VJ piping systems. Globe and right angle body styles. Pneumatic, solenoid, and positioner actuation available via actuator adapter kit.
  • Tube sizes: 1/4" and 1/2" OD tube ends
  • Body styles: Globe, Right angle
  • Jacket: Full, Cold box cuff
  • Operation: Manual, Pneumatic, Solenoid, Positioner
  • Flow plugs: Equal %, Linear (factory option)

Compatible Fluids

All cryogenic liquids. Series selection is based on connection type (tube vs pipe) and size, not fluid compatibility.

COMMON FEATURES ACROSS ALL SERIES

    • Vacuum jacketed construction — eliminates condensation and frost, maintains fluid in liquid state during transfer and storage
    • Three jacket configurations — full vacuum jacket for open VJ piping runs, cold box cuff for panel- or wall-mounted installations, and no jacket for process or ambient-temperature service; available across all three series
    • In-line serviceable stem assemblies — stem, seat, and packing replace without removing the valve body from the pipeline, minimizing downtime
    • Extended stem design — operator handle and packing gland remain at ambient temperature, separated from the cryogenic fluid path
    • Stainless steel bodies — maintains integrity and performance at temperatures down to −452 °F
    • Multiple actuation options on the same body — manual, pneumatic NC/NO, and solenoid without requiring a different valve body (series dependent)
    • Oxygen service cleaning available — CGA G-4.1 compliant cleaning on all series; specify when ordering
