Cryogenic Bayonets

A cryogenic bayonet set makes it easy to connect VJ pipe and flex lines while keeping liquid gases cold. This means frost-free transfers and minimal heat leak. Cryocomp manufactures high-efficiency tube or pipe size bayonets for cryogenic transfer and piping systems.

How Does A Bayonet Connection Work?

A bayonet set consists of two bayonets that fit together. There is a close-tolerance fit between the male and female bayonets. Connecting the two establishes a very small gas pocket. The pocket, or vapor lock, protects the cold liquid from the ambient temperature. Cryogenic bayonets connect sections of vacuum-jacketed flex lines, piping or other equipment. Those sections can then be easily assembled and dismantled in the field.
